Excavation Station
We thought the excavating process would be a simple one because our lot was basically already excavated for a walk-out basement. BUT as we are quickly realizing through this house building process, nothing is ever what you expect it be, it is never simple, never easy, never perfect.
Thankfully, we have great family and friends who just happen to have access to large dirt moving machinery. Friday night, Dennis Church came out and ran a loader, but some of the soil on our lot was slate, and it wasn't going as quickly as planned. The next morning we revamped, and had Tyler Snow out too with his backhoe skills. With both machines moving, the digging happened very quickly. Ben, my dad, and I don't have very refined large machinery skills, we took turns wetting the dirt to minimize dust...a very important task. The whole thing was excavated by mid-morning.
